"Put Your Phone Down" Video. It's pretty corny, but i agree with it.

While writing my post for last week's interactivity, I found it hard to think of the positive sides of technology. I know it makes things in life a lot more convenient, but that doesn't make it better, especially smartphones. Computers are one thing, and they are usually left at home, people don't bring there laptops everywhere they go, but most people can't even leave the house without their phones.  One thing I thought of lately was that it's funny how facebook and twitter are considered "Social Networks" when really, I feel that they are not social at all.

  1. That was such a funny video (and quite true)! You brought up a great point that technology like cell phones are convenient but we for some reason we can't leave home without them. What did people do years ago before cell phones were around? We still managed to live our day to day lives.
Before going back to college I managed a gym for 6 years. We had a sign posted that no cell phones were allowed on the gym floor. Members hated the rule but followed it. When I moved I decided to join a gym closer to my house. I remember being on one of the treadmills next to a woman who was talking loudly on her phone. I stopped by the front desk on my way out and asked if they had a "no cell phone on the gym floor" policy. The desk receptionist looked at me like I had 3 heads. We need to be mindful of our surroundings when we are on the phone. The whole world doesn't need (nor do they want to) hear our conversations!
